Chicken Mayala

Hi All

Made the Chicken Mayala tonight, not seen or tasted it before, it was really nice, a little like Pathia.
Not sure of the consitency it was really quiet thick. Managed to get about 8 portions from the MB3 Gravy.

Added onion seeds for looks and taste.

Hey Guys,

I need the recipe for chicken mayola. I bought 1.5kg chicken from https://www.fipola.in/.
I planned to prepare Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Mayola tonight.

There's nothing on this site Re your Chicken Mayola but apparently it's like a Pathia according to the post above. You could try the Pathia recipe.

Ok fine. Then can you suggest me the recipe for chicken pathia. I very eager to try new dishes and taste it.

Here's a Pathia from Ferret

Chicken Pathia



Chicken Pathia
Hot, sweet and sour

1 portion pre-cooked chicken
Base gravy (hot)

30 ml veg oil
1 chef’s spoon finely-diced onion
1 tsp garlic/ginger mix (60-40)
1 tbsp finely-diced red pepper

MAIN INGREDIENTS
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp dried methi
2 tsp tomato puree 50/50 mixed with water
1 tsp mix powder
¼ tsp garam masala
1 tsp chilli powder (to taste)
¼ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp hing
1 tsp good curry powder (we use Bolst)
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 chef’s spoon coconut powder
1 tbsp tomato paste
Juice of ½ a medium fresh lemon

TO FINISH
4 pieces of fresh tomato, skinned and deseeded
1 chef’s spoon fresh chopped coriander
A squirt of lemon dressing (50-50 mix of veg oil and bottled lemon juice in a shaker squirty bottle)

1. Heat the veg oil until smoking.
2. Add the onion, garlic/ginger and red pepper.
3. Fry on high heat until taking a little colour.
4. Off the heat, add the MAIN INGREDIENTS
5. Back on the heat. Fuse without burning. About 30 seconds.
6. Add a ladle of gravy. Stir fry for 1 min.
7. Add the meat/chicken and more gravy. Turn down the heat and cook on until the protein is hot through. Add more gravy as necessary.
8. Add the TO FINISH ingredients. Cook on until almost back to the boil. Serve.
