    Default Homemade Mango Chutney Vs Store Bourght Mango Chutney

    Why does homemade mango chutney only last 1 week in the fridge but store bought last for a very long time?

    Does anybody know how to adapt a homemade recipe so it lasts a long time in the fridge?

    I've just had a shuftie at my Pataks from the fridge farang. The ingredients are ; Sugar, Mango (38%), Salt, Spices Acetic acid, Citric acid, Garlic, Ginger oil.

    It'll probably the spices along with the Acetic acid (vinegar) that make it last. Maybe you could troll the tinternet to find a recipe that'll last.

    Not much help i'm afraid but there you have it
